Citizen League to meet The Rappahannock County Citizen League will meet on Tuesday, May 6, at 8 p.m. at the Community Center in Washington. President Rachel Ay lor urges all members to attend, as this is a very important meeting.

Special Olympics Special Olympics Area 17 will meet at Woodberry Forest Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those attending from the EMH I and II classes at Rappahannock County Elementary School are Todd Smoot, Michelle Jenkins, John Combs, Tony Brady, Gina Dodson, Brenda Clanagan, Thomas Brown, Peggy Gallihugh and Kim Stringfellow. Students from Orange, Culpeper, Madison and Louisa as well as Rappahannock will be participating.
Bus trip to Oriole-Yankee game The Rappahannock Association For The Arts and The Community (RAAC) is planning a bus trip to the Oriole-Yankee game in Baltimore on Saturday, June 14. Reservations may be made by calling the RAAC office at 6753193. The cost for transportation and ticket is $20; a $10 deposit must accompany each reservation.
4-H tack sale planned Post and Rail 4-H Horse and Pony Club will sponsor a tack sale, (consignments and donations) on Sunday, May 4, at 1 p.m. at the Fauquier Livestock Exchange, near Marshall. Truck and tractor pull scheduled A truck and tractor pull will be held at the Amissville carnival grounds on Saturday, May 31. The event is sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department. For additional information contact Chris Bawkey at 937-5617.
Art show at Middle Street The Rappahannock Elementary School art show and an exhibit of sculpture by New York City artist Rebecca Howland will open May 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Middle Street Gallery Artist Cooperative, and will be open each weekend through May 24. The elementary school’s show will feature work done by students, faculty and Artist in Residence Dan Lewis generated during Mr. Lewis’ residency in April. Ms. Howland is the county Artist-in-Residence sponsored by RAAC during May. She will be working at the Rappahannock County High School with senior citizens and local artists. Mr. Lewis’ residency was funded by the Virginia Commission of the Arts and Rappahannock County School Board. Ms. Howland’s stay is funded by the Mid-Atlantic States Arts Consortium and RAAC.
