Wood, who is a nature writer and editor and a forestry consultant.
Voluntary support has kept the costs low. The camp costs only $75 for the two-week period, and there is assistance available for those who need it.
Co-directing the camp with Mr. Wood is Hunt Harris, a professional tennis instructor who has managed many day and overnight camps, including the Rappahannock 4-H day camp.
The directors recommend that interested children register promptly by calling Rose Ann Sharp at 675-3887.
The camp is offered to boys and girls entering grades three through five. The directors say that they will need a healthy, substantial lunch, a hat, a raincoat, a knapsack, a pen or pencil and a sense of wonder and curiosity.
