“One shouldn’t have to join an organization that is known for its political role,” the Williamsburg Democrat said. “The principle of freedom of choice is well established in Virginia and this flies in the face of it.”
Del. Grayson said he may introduce a bill in the 1987 General Assembly to bar the practice.
He said he would draft a bill after consulting with doctors.
Terry completes goals
RICHMOND — Attorney General Mary Sue Terry, after SV2 sometimes controversial months in office, says she has done what she said she would do during her campaign last fall.
“If you look at the covenant I made with the people in November, what was it?” asked Ms. Terry, a 38-yearold Patrick County lawyer. “I emphasized over and over that the attorney general’s primary role was to lead and manage the law and, secondarily, was public policy.”
Since taking office in January, Ms. Terry has seen all nine of her bills or studies approved by the General Assembly.
"That’s 100 percent approval,” she said.
