Certain fish oils, called Omega 3 fatty acids, can actually lower cholesterol and fat levels.
They may also prevent blood clots, slow dowm the development of atherosclerosis, lower blood pressure, and aid in preventing or treating other diseases.
Fish oils are about the most unsaturated oils you can eat. This means they don’t harden at cold temperatures. These oils act as nature’s antifreeze in many cold-water fish.
Salmon, mackerel, trout, whitefish, and herring are all excellent sources of these healthy fish oils.
The amount of fish oils required to effectively prevent disease is still being studied. Nutritionists suggest eating fish rich in these fatty acids frequently.
