May 24 and 25, the 4-H state * championship at Charlottesville will ; see all 10 of these boys compete in * shotgun, smallbore rifle, and air ri- - fle. Some of these boys will put on an - archery demonstration for all the 400-plus shooters and spectators at - the event. -
May 30 to June 1 is the culmination of step one, the Virginia Hunter ; Education Championship at ; Blackstone. In this competition, these boys will face 24 five-man - teams from all over the state and - will need all of the aforementioned l skills and experience to win.
In July, in Camp Lejeune, N. C., ; is the North American Hunter Edu- * cation Championship, where state • and Canadian provincial winners will - compete for top honors in North America. We want to be there!
The price of success is high, but - the rewards are sweet. Besides the ; trophies these guys will win in the ' days, and years, to come, the ~ friendships and the successes and - achievements they have already - shared will be memories to dream I about in their old age. I
The impact these boys have had - on our local community is very grat- I ifying. The maturity and confidence Z that have grown in them shows at ; first glance. ;
