He was a member of the Marlow Heights Baptist Church, Front Royal, and a former employee of the FMC Corporation, Front Royal. He previously lived in Huntly for a number of years.

Surviving are his wife Kathleen Mills Williams, three daughters, Evelyn Joan Thomas, Janie Lee Cullers and Geneva Ann Spiker, all of Front Royal, two brothers, Clarence Williams of Boyce and Aubrey L. Williams of Elkwood, six sisters, Virginia W. McClanahan and Rosie E. McClanahan, both of Warrenton, Laura Y. Barron of Culpeper, Bessie V. Kincer of Fredericksburg, Myrtle „L- Chiodo of Olyphant, Pa., and Audrey M. Coates of Etlan, and five grandchildren.
