The Rappahannock varsity baseball team lost three close games this past week, leaving the Panthers’ record at 4-5 on the season.
RCHS vs. Brentsville
The Panthers hosted Brentsville on Tuesday night in an 8-7 decision that was played down to the wire.
Brentsville scored first, posting four runs in the top of the first with a double, a single and three walks off sophomore starter Greg Smith. Rapp came back with one in the bottom of the first.
Brentsville loaded the bases again in the second with one out, but Smith settled in, striking out the next two batters. Rappahannock added another in the second; both teams scored in the third, as Brentsville led 5-3.
Brentsville added a lone tally in the fifth; the Panthers scored 3 in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game 6-6.
