Humane Society to meet Due to work at Brambles, the May 5 meeting of the Rappahannock Humane Society has been moved to the home of Ann Sakalaucks in downtown Woodville. The meeting is still scheduled for May 5 at 7:30 p.m. SPTA to meet The Rappahannock County Elementary Student Parent Teacher Association will have its monthly meeting in the school library on Tuesday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m. This is the next to last meeting of the year. Items on the agenda include election of 1986-87 officers and a summary of the SPTA’s activities this school year. In addition, Dan Lewis will give a brief presentation on his experience as Artist in Residence at the elementary school. There will be an exhibit of student and faculty work done during Mr. Lewis’ residency. Babysitting is provided for parents’ and teachers’ children. Homemakers to meet The Washington Daytime Extension Homemakers will meet Wednesday, May 7, at 9:30 a.m. in the basement of the Clerk’s office. New members are always welcome.

Girls’ softball team organizing Registration for a girls’ softball team will be held on Friday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 7, Rappahannock County High School. Girls between the ages of 13 and 15 are invited to register. “You must be 13 and under 16 by Aug. 1,” said a group organizer. Dedication ceremony scheduled The Rappahannock Garden Club will hold a dedication ceremony at the courthouse Tuesday, May 6, at 11 o’clock. The club has recently purchased benches and added to the landscaping of the Memorial Garden. Members and neighbors are invited.
