Important Tuesday
Eight Rappahannock County residents have put their time, integrity and intelligence on the line.
They are candidates for Town Council seats in Tuesday’s election in Washington.
The winners will make vital decisions which will affect the town and adjacent unincorporated areas. With increased development here, services provided by the town are becoming more important — even for those who do not live or work in town. Questions about growth, utility services and increased regulation are of concern both inside and outside the corporate limits.
So the 151 voters eligible to cast ballots Tuesday have a lot to think about and the county’s other residents should keep an eye on the results.
The town’s registered voters should exercise their rights and responsibilities at the polling places Tuesday. The number of candidates is encouraging; voter participation should be equally impressive.
