Cranberry Layer: In medium . bowl, mix gelatin with sugar; add' boiling water and stir until gelatin is dissolved. Stir in ginger ale and cranberries. Turn into 10-inch fluted tube pan; chill until almost set. Creamy layer: In large bowl, mix gelatin with sugar; adding boiling _ water and stir until gelatin is dis-* - solved. With wire whip or rotary beater, blend in sour cream andsherbet. Let stand until mixture is slightly thickened, about 1 minute*, fold in walnuts. Spoon onto almostset cranberry layer; chill until firm.; Garnish, if desired, with frosted cranberries. Makes about 16 servings. - A pleasant snack idea is theC Orange-Cranberry Bread. Orange-Cranberry Bread 1 cup sugar 2*4 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt i 1/2 cup chopped pecans 2 teaspoons grated orange rind r 2 eggs 3/4 cup orange juice 1/2 cup mayonnaise * 1V4 cups chopped cranberries 2 tablespoons sugar 1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind : Combine first 5 ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Stir in pecans and 2 teaspoons orange rind. Set aside. .> Combine the eggs, orange juice and mayonnaise in a small bowl; mix well. Stir into dry mixture until flour is just moistened. Fold in cranberries.

Spoon into a greased and floured 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and 1/2 teaspoon orange rind. Sprinkle on top of loaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.
