A committee composed of RCES principal Maggie Piper and faculty representatives Helen LaCava and Lynne Baines finalized the plans for the week’s events, and announced the schedule of activities.
On Monday, students will be off but the faculty and administrators will have an in-service, work day. “That’s a great way to start National Education Week,” quipped Assistant Superintendent Robert Chappell, as he announced the tentative schedule of events at Tuesday’s School Board meeting.
Tuesday’s theme will be “School Spirit.” The committee is encouraging elementary school students to create banners, posters, mobiles, essays; some of which will be exchanged with the high school. Others will be displayed throughout the elementary school building.
On Wednesday, parents will be the focus, with an open house scheduled at both schools. All parents of elementary school children are invited to visit their children’s classrooms informally. For children in
