Culpeper Memorial Hospital has again been awarded a three-year Certificate of Accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The Joint Commission accreditation is evidence of Culpeper Memorial’s efforts to provide superior quality health care, a CMH spokesman said.
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is recognized throughout the health-care industry as the organization which most represents an impetus to high quality health care.
“Being surveyed by the Joint Commission compares us with most other hospitals in the country, and thus it is most pleasing when the results are such that we receive the maximum allowable accreditation of three years,” said William A. Gravely, president of the hospital. “We are, of course, very pleased with the outcome of this survey and believe that the community would be proud to know that its hospital continues to retain full accreditation.”
Accreditation is professional recognition of facilities as meeting nationally recognized standards. To become accredited, CMH voluntarily requested an on-site evaluation by Joint Commission surveyors. The national standards of the Joint Commission represent a consensus among health-care professionals and are updated periodically to reflect advances in health-care delivery.
Maintaining Joint Commission accreditation reflects Culpeper Memorial’s sincere commitment to providing excellence in patient care and continually updating our services, the CMH spokesman added.
