Mike asked Industrial Arts teacher Scott Currie for permission to build the ramp shortly after school started. Mr. Currie told him to come back with some plans which would detail the construction involved. “Usually, when I tell a student to bring me plans, that’s the last I hear,” Mr. Currie said. Not so with Mike. “He was back the next day with a set of plans.” Mr. Currie gave the project his okay, but told Mike that it would have to be done outside of regular class time.
