“We’d like to require you to put them all underground,” council member Evelyn Willis said.
Town Attorney Frank Reynolds noted that the application presents problems in that regard because, except for the 200 to 300 feet of service upgrade, “everything else they’re doing is by-right.”
“What’s the sense," Mr. Fisher added, “of putting a trench in the ground for one wire when there’re still two overhead?”
“That’s the same argument,” Mrs. Willis said, “that there are so many ugly cables already why bother to bury any?”
