“As of the first of the month, the price was 99.3 cents/gallon while it was 6.4 cents/gallon cheaper a year ago.” (These prices include federal and state gasoline taxes.)
“Wholesale gas prices leaped an average of 3-4 cents/gallon in April while showing only small gains in the first three months of the year,” reports Mr. Osina. “This trend is expected to continue into June at least.”
However, motorists should have little trouble finding gasoline as they travel this Memorial Day weekend, the association’s survey found.
