My first trip to Arlington National Cemetery.
My immediate impression was sorrow.
Lines of stark white tombstones stretched across acres of rolling green hills. All too reminiscent of soldiers in formation. Viewing literally thousands of neatly arranged graves, I cried.
I cried for the brave young men and women who rested there. Soldiers who paid the ultimate price for my cherished freedom. And I cried as I remembered eight very special friends.
Friends with whom 1 shared a unique closeness in Vietnam.
