Crafters wanted for festival
The Sperryville Fire Department and Sperryville Rescue Squad will hold their first annual craft festival on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20 and 21, at the Fire Department on Rt. 211 W. All crafters are welcome. To reserve booth space, or for more information, call 987-8170.
Help offered for Ag problems
Jack Dunford, Farm Management Extension Agent, will be in the Rappahannock Extension Office to handle phone calls and visits pertaining to agriculture on Mondays in May and June from 9 a.m. to noon. Any resident with questions or problems pertaining to agriculture should call or stop by the Extension Office on Gay St. in Washington, where Mr. Dunford will be available. He can be available for farm visits in the afternoons if such services are needed. Please come by or give the Extension Office a call at 675-3619.
Concert benefits schoolhouse
Jazz, ragtime and music by contemporary composers, with a sampling of Baroque, will be presented at the Guild Hall of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Rapidan, on Sunday, June 5 at 3 p.m. Fred Kams on guitar and David Kane on electric keyboard will perform music of Villa Lobos, Ponce and other Latin composers as well as their own special jazz and ragtime. The concert is sponsored by the Rapidan Foundation for the benefit of the Rapidan Schoolhouse Library.
