Almond Strawberry Pie 1 cup granulated sugar 3-1/2 T. cornstarch 1/8 tsp. salt 1 cup crushed strawberries 1/4 cup margarine 1/4 cup water 1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sliced almonds 1 baked 9-inch pie shell 1 cup whole strawberries 1 cup whipped cream 1/4 tsp. almond extract 2 T. confectioners sugar In saucepan combine granulated sugar, cornstarch, salt, crushed berries, margarine and water; cook stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and transparent; cool. Blend together cream cheese and almonds; spread in bottom of pie shell. Stand whole berries upright in cream cheese mixture; pour sauce over berries; combine whipped cream, almond extract and confectioners sugar; spread over sauce. Refrigerate until serving time.
