2 cups heavy cream 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 4 egg whites 1 teaspoon vanilla Scald 1 cup heavy cream in the top of a double broiler. Sweeten with the granulated sugar. Beat together the egg whites and the remaining cup of cream (100 turns of a hand rotary beater will be sufficient). Add a little of the hot cream to the egg white-and-cream mixture, stir well, then add this gradually to the hot cream. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until thickened, or for about 4 minutes. Remove from the fire and cool, stirring occasionally. Flavor with the vanilla, pour into a covered glass jar and chill thoroughly.

This will be a very thick and heavenly concoction to glorify the already delectable strawberries. When you’re too busy to cook and yet you need a nice dessert, why not try this strawberry sauce over vanilla ice cream garnished with a dollop of whipped topping.
