Many of you, who are reading this article, have wondered, “why is my family and my marriage and my home in such turmoil and disarray, why is it that my life and my family are falling apart and why isn’t there real lasting happiness and joy and love in our home?” Many of you are worried that your children will get involved in drugs or alcohol or sexual activities. Many people think this is just the normal way of life, that people will just have these kinds of problems and that there is nothing that anyone can do about it. My friend, there is something you can do about it, you can say what Joshua said, “choose you this day whom you will serve, but as for me, and my house we will serve the Lord.” The reason why these things that I have mentioned are happening on such a large scale is that we have not chosen to serve the Lord, and when we don’t choose to serve the Lord and raise our families according to God’s word, then we will see these things beginning to happen in our own families. I challenge you parents, especially you fathers, to make that same descision that Joshua made and give your hearts in surrender to the Lordship of Jesus in your life, and lead your family in the way of the Lord. Parents or even you single parents, bring your family to church this week, and experience the life changing power of Jesus Christ. God’s great power can restore your marriage and your family and your life.
