Redskins-Steelers tickets on sale
In the interest of promoting culture in Rappahannock County, “RAAC-on-Tour” is sponsoring a bus trip to the pre-season RedskinSteeler game on Friday, Aug. 5. The ticket price of $35 includes tickets, bus and beverage. The bus will leave the Sperryville Emporium at 5:15 p.m. and stop at Gay Street at 5:30 p.m. Reservations are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Grafters wanted for festival
The Sperryville Fire Department and Sperryville Rescue Squad will hold their first craft festival Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20 and 21, at the Fire Department on Rt. 211W. All crafters are welcome. To reserve booth space, or for more information, call 987-8170.
Help offered for farm problems
Jack Dunford, Farm Management, Extension Agent, is in the Rappahannock Extension Office to handle phone calls and visits pertaining to agriculture on Mondays during June from 9 a.m. to noon. Any resident with questions or problems pertaining to agriculture should call or stop by the Extension Office on Gay Street in Washington, where Mr. Dunford will be available. He also can make farm visits in the afternoons, if such services are needed. Please come by or give the Extension Office a call at 675-3619.
CulpeperFest ’88
The Culpeper Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor CulpeperFest ’88 on Thursday, July 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises. A variety of food, entertainment and exhibits reflecting local culture and lore will be found in this natural setting. In addition, local businesses, industries, civic groups and volunteer organizations will display their “Culpeper Pride” by showing off their growing town nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge. The Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises is two miles south of town on U.S. 29. Tickets will be sold in advance only.
