Library looks
for readers Now that school is out, the county’s children will be looking for interesting ways to spend their days. There is no better opportunity to be entertained while learning than to sign up for and participate in the Garfield Reading Club at the Rappahannock Library, a library spokesman said. There will also be a “read-to-me” program for preschoolers. For children graduating from kindergarten or younger a varied program will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays. At 2 p.m. each Wednesday a film program will be available for children who have finished first grade and above. All programs start on June 22 and will continue through Aug. 3. Children who have read the prescribed number of books for each program will receive a certificate at the special closing program Aug. 9. “Stop by the library or call 6753780 to sign up for summer reading pleasure,” the spokesman said.
