Chesapeake Bay, a builder is required by law to put in straw dikes, staked filter cloth or dig a retaining pond at the low end of the area he is clearing. If he doesn’t, the Environmental Protection Agency people are all over him and the situation is corrected in a hurry.

Why doesn’t Rappahannock have such an ordinance? With the increase in building all over Northern Virginia, 1 would think that such laws would be important to protect the already established citizens and taxpayers.

Will everyone in the county please give our supervisors their input on this problem that is only going to get worse.
