All too often things of real merit go without acknowledgment. We tend to focus on negative or worrisome things and take the positive ones for granted.
This has certainly been the case with the journalistic merit of the Rappahannock News. While the News was rightfully proud to announce its receipt of the honor of “National Blue Ribbon Newspaper” from the National Newspaper Foundation, not muf hoopla was elicited from your general readership.
Yet, those who have marked the measured, but inspired, editorial content of the News of the last two years must be aware that the blue ribbon should be pinned to the desk of Lou Hatter. Certainly Lou has excellent editorial back-up and good
