A two-vehicle accident on Saturday evening near Ben Venue left three people injured and both drivers facing moving violations, according to Trooper C. A. Moore, who investigated the accident.

According to Trooper Moore, a 1987 Mazda pickup driven by James Carroll Racer III, of Washington, Va., was northbound on Rt. 729 from Ben Venue toward Flint Hill “at an unsafe speed.” The second vehicle, a 1973 Chevrolet pickup driven by Carl Lester James, of Amissville, pulled from Rt. 638 onto Rt. 729 and was struck by Mr. Racer’s truck.
