Quaker meeting

Cloverbud camp planned

4-H Camp Cloverbud will be held August 5-6 at the 4-H Center near Front Royal. This camp is designed to introduce 6-, 7- and 8-yearolds who have not been to camp before to the overnight camping experience. The cost is $25. Registration information can be obtained by contacting the Rappahannock Extension Office at 675-3619.

Grafters wanted for festival

The Sperryville Fire Department and Sperryville Rescue Squad will hold their first annual craft festival on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20 and 21, at the Fire Department on Rt. 211 W. All crafters are welcome. To reserve booth space, or for more information, call 987-8170.

Higher education

in Rappahannock

Anyone interested in making higher education more available in Rappahannock County is invited to a meeting July 17 at 2 p.m. at Middle Street Gallery. This will be a brainstorming session to discuss the needs of county residents for higher education, .the college-level resources of Rappahannock that could be made better use of and the possible formation of a closer relationship with Lord Fairfax Community College, James Madison University and George Mason University. The meeting is being called by Dr. Denise Horton and Laurie Marshall, who have a strong interest in having higher education he a part of Rappahannock life.
