As a member of the House Space, Science and Technology Committee, I believe our space program has been built on a solid record of achievement, to the great benefit of our nation as a whole. I certainly hope the space program will remain one of our highest national priorities.
The use of illegal drugs is one of our nation’s most serious problems.
I have recently cosponsored legislation in the House of Representatives, H.R. 4446, to combat the escalating problem of drugs in America.
This legislation, called the Drug Free America Act of 1988, would permit our military forces to participate in drug control activities outside U.S. borders and provides $45 million for 1988 to restore funds for the Coast Guard’s drug enforcement
