Coleman, in turn, requested that Parris and Trible serve as honorary chairmen of his campaign, and both agreed to do so.
“I can not think of two men I would rather have at my side in the tough contest that lies ahead,” said Coleman.
Echoing the Presidents words, Coleman said, “My friends, we are united by a bond that transcends personal differences and the effects of our competitive struggles.” The bond, he said, is the Republican party and its principles.
Coleman promised a spirited campaign. Ridiculing the Democratic ticket for using the lottery Pick 3 slogan, Coleman said, “And what a gamble it is.”
