The CETA (Comprehensive
Employment Training Act) program which is operating out of Washington this summer promises to be very successful. The aim of the program is to find summer employment for youths between the ages of 14 and 22 in non-profit organizations, and. explains Mary Carter, Summer Counselor for the Rappahannock County program, to find a worksite “that’s as career oriented as possible.”

Board agreed to seek direction from the supervisors before deciding which of two bids to accept for repair of the elementary school roof. At the special meeting, held Tuesday to open the roof and the gas, oil and coal bids, the board could not proceed without determining whether they had the supervisor’s concensus to replace the flat roof or to add a pitch to the roof, which has been plagued by leaks for years.
The fifth annual Antique Auto Show will be held July 4 at 10 a.m. at the south end of Gay Street in Washington. The auto show, begun by David Konick of Castleton, has attracted more vintage cars each year. Last year approximately 30 cars were on display, and this year Mr. Konick hopes to have around 50, but there is no limit.
