Mrs. Hitt was the daughter of the late Rosser and Rosa Hawkins Singleton. She was married to the late Walter T. Hitt. She was a native of Rappahannock and a merfiber of Grouldvine Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Martha Hitt of Washington; one son, Harvey Hitt of Port Tobacco, Md.; one foster son, Roy Legg of Culpeper, one brother, Willie R. Singleton of Rixeyville; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Clore Funeral Home chapel February 17 with the Rev. Tom Darling and the Rev. John McQurry officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Shirley Lohman
Mrs. Shirley Burke Lohman, 47, of Richmond, formerly of Alexandria, died February 14, at St. Lukes Hospital, Richmond.
Mrs. Lohman was a native of Woodville and the daughter of the late Otis B. and Harriet Vaughn Burke.
Surviving are one son, Gregory Lohman of Alexandria; one sister, Mrs. Barbara Hudson of Washington; and two brothers, Bernard Burke of Alexandria and Frederick Burke of Waldorf, Maryland.
