No con job
To the editor:
Last week you printed a letter from Stewart Willis. I am not exactly sure what the point of this letter was, but I would like to answer it since the letter mentioned my name seventeen times.
In stating that I was “conned” by some unnamed person that Mr. Willis goes on and on about, he implies that I am too ignorant to find out what is going on in the town for myself.
The fact is that anybody with some common sense can see what has been goipg on in the town government for the past few years. Certain people get their problems solved through a variance or waiver just for the asking, but other people who have lived here all their lives can never seem to get straight answers to their problems.
I wasn’t conned by anyone, Mr. Willis, including the way you tried to make it sound like you felt sorry for me and the problems my family and I have had over the change in the town boundary line, when all you really wanted was an excuse to write a .letter to the paper that makes Newbill Miller look bad.
Newbill Miller has been off the town council for four years. It’s about time the people in town government stopped trying to blame everything on Newbill, and started accepting some of the responsibility for their own actions or inactions.
