SERVICES

The County of Rappahannock is seeking qualified bids for construction services, namely, to effect construction to the County’s Animal Shelter facility to be located at the Rappahannock County Sanitary Landfill property on Rt. 639 in Amgffcyille.

The project shall include erection of prefabricated and wired wall sections for a 15'x15' office/utility building on a concrete slab, the finishing of said building to include roofing, separation into office space, bathroom, and storage area, as well as the construction of from 8-10 fenced runs for containment of animals which will be served by an enclosed structure to be erected on the rear of the office/utility building.

Said construction will be accomplished to meet the State veterinarian's standards for animal care.

The wall sections are complete and ready for integration into the contractor's project. Contractor will be responsible for: ground plumbing (ind. connection to existing septic system), slab (with floor drain in interior examination room), erection of wall sections, separation/ construction of interior walls, completed electric to include installation of electric baseboard heat and fluorescent lighting, and provision of asphalt shingle roof. Also, slab for fenced animal runs shall be constructed, to include floor drains and sloped floor to facilitate cleaning, all prepared to accept fencing (to be provided by contractor or the County at the latter's discretion.).

All interested persons are invited to direct their inquiries regarding the scope of work, terms, etc., to Jonn W. McCarthy, 703/6753342. Bids should be received by Mr. McCarthy at the Building, Zoning and Administration Office, corner of Porter and Main Street, (P.O. Box 519), Washington, VA 22747, no later than Friday, February 23,1990. The bid should state what method of terms are proposed, either fixed price or time/materials, or some other method: should state the bidder's name, phone number, and contractor's license number: should include references or details of past experience: and should state when bidder will be able to commence construction. Bids will be evaluated on the basis of cost(s), past experience, and ability to proceed with the work in a timely fashion.

The procedures for Competitive Negotiation as outlined in the Virginia Public Procurement Act, 61137 of the Code of Virginia, shall apply.
