If Mr. Miller wants to know why the car I drive is registered in D.C., he can ask Mr. Wickens. I explained why to Mr. Wickens several months ago when he told me I should have Virginia tags on my car, because, in his opinion, it didn’t “look right” not to.
If I were trying to avoid state or county auto registration requirements, I wouldn’t be driving a car around Town with “GOOCH” tags on it.
As to the last word, Mr. Miller, it’s not yours or mine. It won’t come from the Tax Department or the Voter’s Registrar or even Attorney General Terry. The last word on this subject — which is what kind of government Washington will have —belongs to the voters in the May 1, Town election.
So, lighten up, Mr. Miller — or, at least, spice it up. This newspaper has to sell papers to survive.
