Although people willing to rur fire and rescue calls are certainly needed and welcomed, most of the fire departments and rescue squads would also appreciate offers of assistance from people willing to help with fundraising and the various administrative duties which are also a necessary part of the departments functions.

in oratory
Wakefield School senior Ashb Reid won the district American Le gion Oratorical Contest held re cently at Central High School. Mis Reid, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs A. Ray Reid of Route 2, Culpeper will next compete in the zone contes to be held Feb. 17 in Front Royal.
Miss Reid’s prepared speech wa on the Bill of Rights, and her extern pjoraneous talk concerned Article 1 Section 3 of the Constitution. He coach is Margaret Doyle, a Wake field faculty member since 1984 Robert J. O’Neill was the contes chairman.
