After hard practices last Saturday and Monday, and a win over Strasburg Tuesday, he feels his team is ready for their rivals from the valley. “I have confidence in every player on the team. They are all capable at a given time of going out and having a big game ... the difference could be our bench support — it’s the best in the district. Those guys could be as important as the starters.
“We have a team approach,” Coach Leake stressed. “We don’t count on one or two players to lead and do all the work ... it shows the other teams that we have five, six or seven weapons. If forces them to spread out.”
Page and Rappahannock face off at 8:30 p.m. Thursday night at Warren County High School in the second game of the semi-final doubleheader. The winner will face the winner of the Central-Clarke County match for the district championship on Friday night.
