Reserve the pavilion at Rappahannock Park by calling Bet Gehringer at 675-3342. Cost is $30 and includes private rest rooms, electric outlets, water and large barbeque grill. Tennis and basketball courts are available.
The Rappahannock Athletic Association Little League Mothers will play in a benefit softball tournament on Saturday, June 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stuart Field in Amissville. Everyone is invited to enjoy the fun-filled event. Cost is 25 cents.
Last Friday, T-Ball team Family Focus won over Smith Bros. Dragons 21 to 19.
Congratulations to J.B. Carter and Sandy Ross who were wed on Saturday. Sandy is from Warrenton. They will make their home here in Amissville.
The community is saddened to see Rev. and Mrs. Steve Parker’s family moving away. His farewell meesage at United Methodist will be on June 24. A covered dish dinner follows the service. They have accepted a pastorate in Amelia. They’ve been a real blessing to the community these past eight years. The community extends a warm welcome to the family of William and Tammy Hendell who just moved here from Fort Bragg, North Carolina. William is a Sargeant at Vint Hill Farms Station and Tammy is looking for a job as a nurse’s aide. They have two children. Daughter Christine Elizabeth just celebrated her third birthday on May 27; son Travis William was one year old on December 17. William’s family live in Springfield, while Tammy’s family reside in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Rev. Paul Markee celebrated his birthday on June 13.
Anniversary congratulations to Ron and Teresa Jones on June 14 and Mike and Mary Bums on June 15.
