Reading about the designation of Route 647 as a scenic route between Flint Hill and Route 637 brings to mind the case of the mislabeled road.
Route 637 connects U.S. 211 and Route 647, then emerges a little further east and continues to Huntly.
In all the 30 years since we moved here, we wondered why there is no Route 637 directional sign on U.S. 211. Instead there is a sign for Route 645 which, to anyone looking, is a side road which runs into 637 at a sharp angle. Traveling in either direction on Route 637 between U.S. 211 and Route 647 one
