Charles Butler

Charles Phillip Butler, 63, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Sperryville died, July 20 in a D.C. hospital.

Mr. Butler was born February 2, 1927, the son of the late Gaylord and Anna Lewis Butler. He served in the Army for two years and then continued his career in government work.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Butler of D.C.; a brother, Robert Butler of Sperryville; and a half-sister, Pauline Starks of Maryland.

Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time.

Louise S. Bailey

Mrs. Louise Sutton Bailey, 78, of Amissville died July 22, at her daughter’s residence, Ginger Compton of Rixeyville.

She was born on June 23, 1912.

She was retired as a flower designer for C&S Flowers of Warrenton and Modem Florist of Culpeper.

She was a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church where she was President of WMU and an organist for many years.

Her parents were the late George L. Sutton and Nannie Siler.

Her husband was the late Gary Franklin Bailey Jr. He died on May 21,1989.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ginger B. Compton of Rixeyville and Mrs. Barbara L. Wommack of Lanham, Md.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. July 26, at Forest Grove Baptist Church, Viewtown. The Rev. John W. Lines and the Rev. Sidney Rodriquez will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lloyd L. Wommack, Bill Wommack, Jim Wommack, E. Leon Compton, Joe Compton and Ken Compton.

Clore Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Finney

Dorothy A. Finney, 81, of Culpeper died July 23.

Mrs. Finney was bom May 1, 1909 in Arlington. She was raised on a farm near Warrenton. She received her RN certificate from Middlesex General Hospital in Brunswick, NJ and her post graduate studies at Lying In Hospital in New York, NY.
