PUBLIC HEARING $2.00 PER MONTH TELEPHONE LINE SURCHARGE TO FUND E-911 TELEPHONE SERVICE Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County shall hold a public hearing on Monday, August 6,1990, at 7:00 p.m. at the Courthouse in Washington, Virginia, to consider adopting a $2.00 (per telephone line) per month surcharge to fund the creation of an E-911 emergency telephone system for Rappahannock County, in accordance with S58.1-3813 of the Code of Virginia, 1950 (as amended). In order to adopt the surcharge, the Board must find that an E-911 emergency telephone system will be installed in Rappahannock County and that the Centel and C & P telephone systems have central office equipment which will permit such installation. This surcharge would be reflected on telephone company billings approximately sixty (60) days from adoption by Rappahannock County, and would generate revenues which would be applied solely to defray the initial capital, installation and maintenance costs of the E-911 emergency telephone system. The County shall lower rates upon successful installation of the system to a level sufficient to cover recurring maintenance costs only. All interested persons are invited to attend and to make comment. BY ORDER OF: John W. McCarthy County Administrator
