Meeting in executive session

last Friday morning at the elementary school, the Rappahannock school board voted to offer a contract as elementary assistant principal to Maggie Piper of Culpeper, according to the minutes of the meeting. Although scheduled to assume her duties on August 1, Mrs. Piper can’t be officially appointed here until she is formally released by the Culpeper school board from her current position as Title I reading teacher at Sycamore Park.

PFC Timothy Scott Settle,

son of Tansy S. Frazier of Castleton and the late Lee Taylor Settle, graduated February 1, 1985, from basic training at Parris Island, S.C., with the U.S. Marine Corps. Following four months in law enforcement and combat support training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, he graduated on June 7. He is presently stationed at Cherry Point, N.C.

The Emergency Vehicle Operators Course will be held on Friday at 7 p.m.
