A Tree Farm sign and certificate
of membership in the American Tree Farm System in recognition of good forest management has been presented to Thomas B. Massie of Washington, Virginia by retired Chief Forest' Warden Raymond M. Johnson on behalf of the Virginia Tree Farm Committee. Mr. Massie received the award for carrying out sound forest management practices on his farm woodland property and for protecting his trees from fire, insects and destructive livestock grazing in accordance with Virginia Tree Farm standards.
On August 26 the 4-Hers in the county who have participated in the summer clubs will hold a fair at the Flint Hill Fire Hall. On exhibition will be things made by the 4-Hers at their club meetings and on their own. The exhibits will be open to the public from 1 p.m* to 9 p.m.

director for the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services (Chapter 10) Board, has been re-elected chairman of the Governor’s Professional Advisory Board for Mental Health and Mental Retardation. He was initially appointed by Governor Holton in 1971 and then reappointed in 1972 for a four-year term. .
