a contract with Centel to provide E-911 service to the county. The contract stipulates that Centel will not expect funding until it is available through the surtax on telephone bills.
Ken Bartels of Centel said that the $175,259 contract calls for the county to lease the equipment for the service from Centel, which will order the equipment to be custom made for Rappahannock County. The contract price does not include the cost of naming roads and numbering all the houses in the coqjity.
Mr. Bartels said he would expect the system to go on-line during the summer of 1992, which is about the same time that Culpeper will have an E-911 system. He said there would be a saving to the county if Rappahannock could install its system
