Department chairwoman Kay Larrieu and faculty member Marilyn Welch were thrilled with the results of the competition. Mrs. Welch noted that the students’ abilities “were not just the result of the teachers’ efforts in the classroom, but of a tremendous amount of work and study done on their own.”
