Their greates emphasis is on the importance of maintaining a fertile, living soil. Red Gate Farm consists of approximately 130 acres, of which 45 acres is in hay and grain rotation, 65 acres in pasture, and 20 acres is managed for timber and wildlife.. The farm is located near Fairfield, Virginia.

Their herd of purebred, registered Red Poll cattle (a minor breed known for its gentle disposition, great milking ability and rapid growth), is sold as breeding stock, as well as providing processed beef for sale to individuals. Sides and quarters of beef are sold by reservation only. Individual cuts, hot dogs, and bologna are stocked, frozen, at the farm.
