With Santas big day arriving faster than you can say “Ho, ho, ho,” the National Society tq Prevent Blindness-Virginia Affiliate urges all Santa’s helpers to check their lists twice for toys that could pose a hazard to children’s eyes. Almost all eye injuries from toys can be avoided, the Society says, by selecting toys and games more carefully and teaching youngsters how to use toys safely.
No one wants to play the part of Scrooge during the holidays but children’s toys were responsible for more than 8,900 eye injuries last year alone, according to the Society.
