“I’m just trying to get ahead."

How often we hear this phrase. Yet, how often the “great American dream” turns into a nightmare.

Certainly we need some financial security, but in the process of pursuing great riches and social standing, which might be lost in the blink of an eye, some lose sight of those riches which cannot be bought, and they may pay the price.

Most importantly, we may sacrifice our spiritual well-being. Matthew 16:26 warns us, saying, “For what will a man be profited if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?"

This week, seek the riches of the spirit as you worship God In His House. The Bible advises us in Matthew 6:20 to “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust destroys...” and in Matthew 6:33 to "seek first His (God's) Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things (worldly goods) shall be added to you."

Is this not the greatest security of all?
