Tammy Williams Heflin of Chester Gap became the bride of Shelton Monroe (Kip) Ritenour Jr. of Front Royal on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Marlow Heights Baptist Church.
The 5 p.m. double ring candlelight ceremony was performed by the Rev. Marshall Braylo, uncle of the groom.
Organist was Mrs. Nancy Thompson.
Soloist was Mrs. Sandra Bowen who sang “Wind Beneath My Wings,” “The Wedding Song,” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”
The bride is the daughter of James and Jane Williams of Chester Gap and the late David J. Williams.
The groom is the son of the late Shelton M. Ritenour Sr. and the late Betty H. Wertz.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her step-father, the bride wore a formal white satin ' gown featuring a sabrina neck and long sleeves. The gown also featured a fitted bodice with basque waist covered in schiffli lace, seed pearls and sequins. Pearl swags covered the open key hole back and a large butterfly satin bow accented the bustle of the full cathedral train.
The bride wore a picture hat covered in sequins and pearls on schiffli lace with a curled edge pouf, lilly of the valley sprays on the sides and veiling in the back. She wore a black onyx ring which belonged to her great-grandmother.
She carried a full cascading bouquet of silk pink and fuschia roses, lilly of the valley and stephanotis. Her bouquet was accented with seed pearls that was identical to her gown.
Maid of honor was Miss Lisa Clater.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Dannette Williams.
They wore fuschia satin floor length gowns with sweetheart necks, pouf sleeves accented in chkntilly lace, and a butterfly bow in back which was a smaller version of the bow on the bride’s gown. Fuschia shoes complimented their gowns. They wore a comb with lilly of the valley in their hair. They carried lighted votive cups set in crystal candlestick holders with a ring of silk fuschia and pink flowers identical to the bride’s bouquet.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Norma Settle, Mrs. Cheryl Mellott and Miss Monica McGuire. Their attire was identical to the honor attendants.
Krystal Heflin, daughter of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a chantilly lace and pink taffata floor length gown featuring an anti-bellum skirt accented with a candy box
