Both Level I Wakefield Certa-' men teams took first place in the Virginia Junior Classical League State Certamen that was held at Flint Hill School on Nov. 10.
In the first level, teams compete either as “Experienced," those students who have previously competed and won a first through fifth place trophy; or an “Inexperienced” teams composed of students who have not previously competed.
The rounds in the Certamen consist of 20 ‘Toss Urf questions which may be answered by any team. The Level I Inexperienced competition was tied going int*he final Toss Up questions. Tensic* could be felt in the air when thqpudge announced that whichever team answered the question correctlt would also take
the first place trojmy.
The winning level I team mem- ‘ bers were seventn graders Jennifer Blount of Middletown, Suzanne Carrier of Viewtown,' Corey Noll of Flint Hill and Jody Waldron of Rectortown in FauqMer County.
