Henry Wharton
Henry Albert Wharton, 58, of Sperryville died Dec. 1 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
Mr. Wharton was born January 31, 1932 in Rappahannock County, the son of the Mrs. Josie Florence Corbin Wharton of Woodville and the late Oscar Thomas Wharton.
He was employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
He is survived by his wife, Lee Ann Wharton of Sperryville; his mother, Mrs. Josie Florence Corbin Wharton of Woodville; one son, Albert Wharton of Sperryville; one daughter, Lisa Wharton of Sperryville; two brothers, James Wharton of Marshall and Jesse Wharton of Culpeper; two sisters, Geneva Burke and Lillie Mae Johnson, both of Woodville; and two grandsons, Gary and Mark Wharton of Sperryville.
He was predeceased by one brother, Haywood Wharton.
Funeral services were held Dec. 4 at Clore Funeral Home with the Rev. John Burke officiating. Interment was in the Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Dodson, Timmy Norman, Frank D. Coffey Jr., Wayne Corbin, Huey Atkins and Melvin Atkins.
Honorary pallbearers were Roy Pullen, David Clanagan, Doug Bywaters, Charles Corder, Marshall Dodson, Walter Jenkins, Troy Jenkins, Richard Dwyer, Richard Dwyer Jr. and Jimmy Wayland.
