Think about the gifts you buy and the purpose they serve in the household. Personal gifts are things that one person will really enjoy. Family gifts are things that benefit the whole household. Personal gifts are very appropriate at Christmas. Family gifts may or may not be.
Consider if these large items are on sale. Christmas time may not bring you the best buys on these items.
